And In He Walks

JESUS IS APT TO COME, into the very midst of life at its most real and inescapable. Not in a blaze of unearthly light, not in the midst of a sermon, not in the throes of some kind of religious daydream, but . . . at supper time, or walking along a road. . . He never approached from on high, but always in the midst, in the midst of people, in the midst of real life and the questions that real life asks. Frederick Buechner
Where does God show up in your life?
For so long I thought it had to be in church. Or while reading the Bible.
OMG. . .what is wrong with me? Sometimes church. Sometimes in the Bible (although mostly not, if I’m honest)
And yet into my life He walks. Unexpectedly. Untraditionally. I open my eyes. There He is. I listen. And hear his whisper.
OMG. . .In So Many Ways. . .sounds like a broken record? My apologies!
It’s just that. . .it affirms my thoughts. In the recesses of my mind. What I have seen. What I have heard. Confirmations. Of the presence.
Boom. Right in the middle of a group conversation. Or watching the joy of Molly (my rescue dog) on a walk. Reminding me to have the same “zest for life” that she does. Facetime initiated by my grandson. And always, always, my New Mexico skies.
Yes, mostly when least expected. This God. This Jesus. Steps right into the midst of everyday life.
Where? How? Does He show up in YOUR midst?
OMG. . .In So Many Ways!
As always I am drawn into your writing because of the depths of the message with the least number and intentional choice of words. Less is indeed More, I look forward to what is to come and I am grateful for what I have received. 🦌❤️🙏🥰 Wyn
