The Back Story
I was browsing my writings over the past few years, when I came across how this "OMG thing" came about. I thought you might be interested. And actually it's a "God Thing" in and of itself - so it counts as a reflection.

I was making my way around the neighborhood loop, listening to Brene’ Brown’s Atlas of the Heart, when her voice was cut off by the ringing of my phone.
-
“Hi, can you hear me?” I almost certainly yelled into the phone. For some reason I never trust the party on the other end can hear me when it’s on speaker. I think it’s a control issue.
“Yes, I can hear you,” replied Ann Marie. “ I have to tell you a funny story.”
Ann Marie was the only person we knew when moving to Santa Fe almost six years ago. It was that “crazy, makes-no sense move”, that turned out to be exactly what our destiny was calling. Ann Marie was also our neighbor back in La Canada, CA. And it turns out her grandmother’s home was in Las Cruces, NM, where I went to college. In reminiscing about our years there, we figured most likely there were times when we were walking the same streets – I in college and Ann Marie visiting her grandmother.
My parents moved us to Albuquerque when I was a sophomore in high school. Ann Marie and I probably crossed paths in that New Mexico town as well. She grew up in the Duke City and although she’s seven years my junior, I have no doubt fate was calling our names even way back then.
But I digress. OMG. . . In So Many Ways!
Ann Marie went on to tell me her funny story. Actually it was slightly more than funny. A bit scary, in how events could have unfolded. A story only she could conjure up. A situation most people don’t find themselves in – except seem to be the norm for Ann Marie.
“Well you remember what was going to happen this weekend, right?”, she began the tale.
“Sure. But give me the blow by blow”, I pushed.
With each turn of the narrative I exploded, “OH MY GOD!” Just when I perceived the story over, Ann Marie added another detail.
“OH MY GOD!”
“Holy Cow, this is an OMG story – and in so many ways! So many OH MY GOD’S! Hey I like that for a title of . . . something. . . . ‘OMG . .in so many ways!”, I shouted wanting to make sure Ann Marie heard me over the speaker.
“Yeah, that’s great. Let me write it down for my book”. Ann Marie has been working on a family story almost ever since I moved here, which is nearing completion and going to be amazing.
“Oh no you don’t. That was MY idea! I’m going to use is for something I write. Don’t have a clue what it might be, but you can’t have it. It’s mine!” I was adamant.
“Okay, okay” she laughed. “It’s yours.” Ann Marie is about the most giving person I know.
“OMG. . .In So Many Ways” I’ve had quite a few of them in recent years. Good and Bad!
Let the stories begin!

And, yes, fate was calling our names. Very well stated!
