OMG. . .In So Many Ways

Ash Wednesday

I do not know if I will be alive tomorrow, next week or next year. Therefore today is always more important than tomorrow. We have to be able to say each day, “This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad.”

(Psalm 118:4)  Henri Nouwen

Why do I love the quietness of Ash Wednesday?

No chit chat.  No passing the peace.

Just Quiet.  And then 40 days of introspection.

OMG. . .In So Many Ways.  My kind of liturgical season

But this year.  This year.  Feels different.

Lots to process.  Ponder.  Reflect.

In the world.  In my life.

Time marches on.  Chapters close.  New ones open. Time marches on

OMG. . .Why does that have to happen?

Don’t know.  But that doesn’t seem to matter. It happens!

Refocus.  Be present.  Today is more important than tomorrow.

“This is the day the Lord has made.  Let us rejoice and be glad”

Think I know what my Lenten Journey will be about.

How about you?
